What is Healthy Kids Day?

Healthy kids. Stronger communities.
At the Y, we believe every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy, confident, and ready to succeed—both in and out of the classroom. But across the country, not all communities have equal access to the resources that support kids’ well-being.

Right now, 1 in 3 children in the U.S. is living with obesity. During the summer months, the risks increase—children become more inactive and can fall behind academically. Studies show that kids gain weight twice as fast and experience learning loss when they lack access to safe, structured programs.

That’s why your YMCA is here.
We are more than a gym. We are a movement for youth development. No matter where our branches or programs are located, we stand as a constant—creating spaces where children are active, learning, and thriving.

You know the Y. You know our mission. Together, we’re helping every child build healthy habits and bright futures.
